McKnittey Musings — gradient yarn
Circo Cowl Mystery Knitalong Progress - Clue 4
Posted by Kelli Ladwig on
We had a photo shoot today here at McKnittey. It was a ton of fun, but I did not get much sleep in anticipation of it.
I love all the samples I have knitted for McKnittey, but it was really exciting to see other people in the shawls and scarves. It really gives life and movement to them.

Circo Gauge Swatch

I have been working on the gauge swatch while waiting impatiently for the Nelkin Designs Circo Mystery Knitalong (MKAL). I confess I often bypass making a gauge swatch for shawls, scarves and cowls because the are usually one size. However, for this project, which uses a gradient and every bit of the skein, it is important to make sure you are getting gauge so you have enough yarn.

Circo Cowl MKAL

I am constantly working on store samples so I know how the yarns I recommend and sell will work in a project. It is very important to us to have what I call "inventory integrity." In other words, what we carry to sell is what we would buy ourselves.I decided that I needed to take a break from work knitting and make something for myself. Laura Nelkin's latest mystery knitalong project, the Circo Cowl, is launching September 15.
