My mother-in-law recently gave me some crochet work that her mother and grand-mother made. Many of them were still stiffened and she described how they had a blocking board to reblock them after washing.
She said I reminded her of them because I never sit down without something to do. I take that as a compliment.
My mother-in-law had used many of them in her own home and I could tell her favorites because they were not stiffened but we're gently blocked.
She described where her mother used them in the house. I have placed some of them in the dining room and when I get my bedroom finished will use them in their also. My home was built in 1920 so it seems very appropriate to use them as intended.
The craftsmanship is amazing and I am grateful that she thought of me.
