Circo Cowl Mystery Knitalong Progress - Clue 3

I completed Clue 3 a day after Clue 4 had been released. Not bad considering the other things going on in my life. I am very pleased with the project. I was actually able to fix boo-boos in my lacework. That is a huge step for me as I would have been compelled to frog the whole thing previously.

Farmer's Wife 1930s Quilt Sampler Sewalong - Week 2

I received my book this week. Very exciting! It seems more colorful and contemporary than the previous book with the photos having a more Pinterest quality to them. This week's blocks, selected by Gnome Angel and her team, were Caroline (20) and Betty(14). The Betty block is my favorite to date because it has ledger fabric in it. My husband is an accountant and this fabric tickles him. I think it adds whimsy.

Vintage Find Friday

My mother-in-law recently gave me some crochet work that her mother and grand-mother made. Many of them were still stiffened and she described how they had a blocking board to reblock them after washing. She said I reminded her of them because I never sit down without something to do. I take that as a compliment.

Hollywood Knitting - Dale Evans

Well, I do not know if Dale Evans was a knitter or not, but she really looks smashing in this hand-knit sweater. Dale was born in 1912 in Uvalde, Texas. Anecdotal evidence would support the premise she was a knitter as most women if that era learned sewing, knitting and other handcrafts as a necessity.
